“Keep in mind that coverstock accounts for 70% of ball reaction, but the core creates the dynamic shape of the reaction. Your driller will alter the shape to suit your game.”

We have a soft spot for pearl asyms and this fits into the mold where we expect it to be pretty versatile.

Jumping right in, the Track In2ition seems like a really good pearl asym. The hallmark is clean motion through the front part of the lane. Mids are clean while the core is churning up. Then you get the strong punchy downlane motion. The best of the pearl asyms are extremely versatile in that they can be used on a wide variety of conditions. EBI family has had several top notch pearl asyms including the Hammer Black Widow Pink, Statement Pearl, Ebonite Choice Pearl, and Columbia 300 Savage Life. From those, Statement Pearl is the strongest, Pink is the most versatile, Savage Life is the flippiest. The In2ition is probably closest to the Pink in motion from all of those and that’s high praise. I’ve had a lot more time with the Pink so I can’t say the In2ition is as versatile but it looks really good and easy to toss. The cover has decent strength so I get in a bit and it just has a very readable midlane transition and good roll. It was very comfortable to throw. I didn’t feel like I had to chase a shot. The shot was there and it told me exactly what to do.

Sean was next and he’s always liked pearl asyms. With a higher rev rate but a lower axis rotation he is playing more direct. The ball has nice shape getting downlane quite easily. You can see it start up and keep going. It’s not the sharpest asym motion but that is also likely to make it a bit more versatile. It’s a good motion and not very complicated.

Finally Bryan tested the In2ition. It looked very good for him as well. You can see the different motions it created. He didn’t have to fight it or thread the needle. He could use the friction to generate bigger angle from the outside. At the same time, he could get deeper into the oil, pull the breakpoint in, say 15 to 10 and he still got excellent drive through the pins. Many times you get one or the other but having enough angle to loop while having enough strength to play in the oil means this is going to be really good.

Final Thoughts
Track offers up a really good pearl asym in the In2ition. It puts an excellent piece in the top line for the brand. If you haven’t noticed, Track really has a very solid lineup top to bottom.
